Anna Farmer
Dr. Farmer earned a BSc (Biology) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, a BSc (Nutrition) from Mount Saint Vincent University, an MPH (Nutrition) from the University of Hawaii, and a PhD (Community Health) from the University of Toronto. In addition, she completed her dietetic internship at Misericordia General Hospital in Winnipeg.
The main area of Dr. Farmer’s research is understanding the social and behavioural determinants of nutrition and health, childhood obesity and practitioner behaviour, with a special emphasis on individual and organizational behavioural change. Her studies involve examining theoretical models (e.g., Social Cognitive Theory, Diffusion of Innovations, Ecological models) for guiding the development of interventions.
