University of Alberta Graduate Students' Association
The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) is governed by a constitution. The GSA Council meets once a month throughout the year. The Annual General Meeting is usually held in March. The budget for the next year is presented at this meeting. Policy is set by the GSA Council, which consists of the five Executive members and representatives of all departments with graduate programs.
The GSA Executives are elected annually and are ratified at the Annual General Meeting.The Executive has a defined authority to make decisions and allocate GSA funds within certain parameters. Its general policy and budget decisions are taken before Council.
